ABOUT TEJAL MODI
(RYT 200 Hour)
Tejal Modi is a resident of Irvine, California and has been a practitioner of yoga for over twenty years. A native of Ahmedabad, India, Tejal grew up next door to a Yoga Ashram and was introduced to the art of yoga at a very young age. Throughout her education, she became fluent in Gujrati, Hindi, English and has also studied Sanskrit, the language of the ancient yogic philosophy.
In the year 2000, Tejal immigrated to Irvine with her husband, and began a career in the finance industry. Like many Americans, she worked diligently to manage the dueling lifestyles of a business professional and mother. A brief health crisis became a turning point in her awareness that she was reaching her limits. She found answers and solutions for her health conditions in Yoga and breathing exercises (Pranayama).
With renewed mindfulness and conviction, she began practicing yoga and meditation regularly. Tejal received her formal yoga training at Be The Change Yoga and Wellness in Irvine, California. She currently teaches at the University Synagogue to seniors and people with Alzheimer’s in addition to private sessions with her clients.

TESTIMONIALS

This is what her students say about her:
“My weekly yoga practices with Tejal are a treat for my mind and body. Thanks to Tejal, I’ve learned to breath deeper and relax more.”
– Gail Reisman, Ph. D.
“Tejal has been so gracious volunteering her time and sharing her practice with our adult day program US Bridges. The Bridges program was designed for people with mild to moderate memory loss. One day after Tejal left I asked the group how they would describe their feelings regarding Tejal and their yoga session, these were their responses: "serene, relaxed, quiet, gentle, soothing, calming, peaceful, happy, loose, comprehensive, good exercise, wish I could do it more, getting better in my practice, physical is only part of it, it's also spiritual." These words seemed to come easily to a group that oftentimes struggles with word retrieval and I think that is due to the connection Tejal has made with them. Her giving nature puts the group at ease.”
– Heather Anderson, MSG Program Director: US Bridges
"Tejal has been teaching our family yoga for three years. We were lucky enough to be introduced to her when as our son had specific needs that required individualized attention. But it has brought benefits to the entire family and she addresses our needs for each session. Her sessions always leaves us relaxed and calm. It has been a wonderful experience."
– Ashley Kim
"For the past year, we have had the privilege of Mrs. Tejal Modi conducting Yoga Sessions for our ‘Just for Seniors’ program. We meet every third Thursday of the month, and our programs start with a one-hour Yoga Session. Our Seniors thoroughly enjoy and always look forward for these sessions. Tejal is very talented, has a wonderful temperament, and her clear and simple instructions enable us to get the best out of these sessions. She is very aware of the capabilities of our group, and selects the most appropriate Yoga elements for us. We are very thankful to Tejal for making herself available for us."
– Srinivasan Balasubramanian, Coordinator, ‘Just for Seniors’, CMLA.
"Mrs. Tejal Modi has been conducting yoga sessions every month on Seniors’ Day at the Chinmaya Mission Tustin Center. As a coordinator and participant, I admire Tejal’s teaching style which is very unique, professional, friendly, understanding and encouraging for every attendee. It is her special quality that she creates a pleasant learning environment and explains clearly benefits of each posture and guides us through the correct way of doing the asanas at individual level. All seniors continue to enjoy Tejal’s class as she walks us through well planned curriculum each time. We look forward to continuous improvement in our learning quest of yoga exercises through Tejals expert teaching."
– Ramesh Boddula
Tejal is a great Yoga instructor. She takes classes in group of similar activity level, so it is good to concentrate and go with everyone’s speed. Her ‘International Yoga Day’ session is always inspirational.

I started taking private yoga class from Tejal after I was diagnosed with a lung disease, especially reduced lung capacity in February 2022. The pulmonologist said that I will have to live with this the rest of my life, and to take steroid inhalers. I refused to believe that I cannot reverse this condition naturally so I turned to yoga. Tejal has been my guiding angel in my yoga and fitness journey. I highly recommend her as she is extremely knowledgeable, customizes lessons to your needs, is really friendly and kind. I have learnt so much from her about how our body works, yoga postures, breathing, and meditation, that now I am able to practice everyday. The best part is that in my last pulmonary check up, tests shows that my lung capacity has increased since my first diagnoses. I give all the credit to Tejal for this.
Over the last one year Tejal has also become a very dear friend, and I feel so blessed to have her in my life.
